We are hiring a Full-Time Director of Nursing!

Basic Qualifications:

Education/Training/Certifications:

  1. MSN
  2. Nurse Practitioner License – New Jersey
  3. BCLS
  4. Current driver’s license and proof of auto insurance

Skill(s):

  1. Broad knowledge base of health care problems of the frail elderly.
  2. Knowledge of common safety hazards in the home and improvements to establish a safer environment
  3. Skilled in identifying problems and recommending solutions.
  4. Knowledge of home care services nursing principles and practices with particular reference to the elderly.
  5. Ability to do physical assessments and develop plans of care.
  6. Knowledge of health counseling techniques and practices.
  7. Skilled in preparing and maintaining records and written reports and responding to correspondence.
  8. Excellent organization and documentation skills. Previous management and leadership experience in Home Health Care
  9. Familiarity with community health resources, which are available to participants and families
  10. Skilled in developing and maintain department quality assurance. Knowledge of current NJ Home Health policies
  11. Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with participants, medical staff, staff members and family caregivers.
  12. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Experience:

  1. 5-years nurse management experience in a hospital, nursing home or community-based setting.
  2. Minimum of 1 year working with the frail or elderly

Medical Clearance:

Employees must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.

General Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Executive Director and the Director of Operations, is accountable for the direction, provision, and quality of 24 hour nursing services provided to Lutheran Senior Healthcare participants in the Center as well as in the home of participants. Responsibilities include development and implementation of nursing objectives, a nurse staffing plan, participation in the annual budget and financial objectives, and the development and implementation of a quality assurance plan for nursing services. Provides nursing services in accordance with New Jersey Board of Nursing requirements. Has knowledge of geriatric care issues and related nursing standards and creates a work environment that fosters teamwork and ongoing educational activities.
